1. Who is responsible for your data
Dr. Rafael Velasco Marín, with office at Jurel #61 SM3, Cancún, Quintana Roo, México (the "Practice", "we"), is responsible for the processing of your personal data in accordance with Mexico's data protection law (Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares) and its regulations.

2. Personal data we collect
- Contact data you send us through the contact forms, email, phone or WhatsApp: name, email address, phone number and the message you write.
- Information about your goals and health that you choose to share to be evaluated as a candidate for a procedure, including photos you send us. This may be sensitive personal data.
- Technical data collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and approximate location, through cookies and similar technologies (see section 7).
We do not ask for payment card numbers through this website.
3. Why we use your data
- To answer your questions, schedule consultations and evaluate whether a procedure may be right for you.
- To communicate with you about your inquiry by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve its content, speed and usability.
- To comply with legal obligations and, when necessary, to defend our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Sensitive data and your consent
Health information and photos related to your body are considered sensitive personal data. We only process them if you choose to send them to us, and only to evaluate your inquiry. By submitting them through the website, email or WhatsApp you give your express consent to this processing. Please do not send sensitive information if you do not want it to be processed. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 9).
5. Who we share data with
We do not transfer your data to third parties without your consent, except to service providers that help us operate the website and communicate with you, or when a law or authority requires it:
- Formspree, which processes the contact-form submissions and delivers them to our email.
- Google (Google Analytics and Google Maps), for website statistics and the embedded map.
- Trustpilot, which displays patient reviews through an embedded widget.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us through WhatsApp.
- Our website hosting and email providers.
Some of these providers are located outside Mexico, mainly in the United States. By using the forms or contacting us you accept these transfers, which are necessary to attend your request.
6. Medical privacy and HIPAA
The Practice operates in Mexico and is not a U.S. "covered entity", so U.S. HIPAA rules do not generally apply to information you send us. We nevertheless treat your health information as confidential and use it only for the purposes described in this policy.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to measure traffic in an aggregated way. Google may place cookies in your browser. Embedded services such as Google Maps and Trustpilot may also set their own cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from using the website, although some embedded content may not display.
8. Retention and security
We keep inquiry data for as long as needed to attend your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, and we keep clinical information for the periods required by applicable Mexican health regulations. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your data, although no internet transmission is completely secure.
9. Your rights (ARCO) and withdrawing consent
You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if it is inaccurate, Cancel it when you consider it is no longer needed, and Oppose its use for specific purposes. You may also withdraw your consent or limit the use of your data.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request", your full name, a way to contact you, a copy of an identification document and a clear description of what you request. We will answer within the time limits set by law. If you believe your rights were not respected, you may go to the competent Mexican data protection authority.
10. Children
This website is directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from people under 18 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law or in our practices. The date at the top shows the latest version. Please review it from time to time.
